Our story
SchoolComposite didn't start in a Silicon Valley office. It started in a small photography studio, late at night, with photographers staring at Photoshop wondering why there wasn't a better way.
We're working school photographers who have spent years developing our own code and tools to make our jobs easier. What started as simple scripts to resize images evolved into sophisticated automation. What began as a hack to align heads became a genuine face detection system.
"We kept going because we knew the pain. We lived it every season. And we kept thinking: there has to be a better way."
For years, we built these tools just for ourselves. They were rough around the edges, but they worked. They saved us hours every week. They let us shoot more schools instead of spending nights in front of a computer.
Then the tools caught up with the vision. Face detection that actually works. Automatic sizing that's consistent every time. Templates that hold up print after print. What took us 45 minutes per composite now takes under 10.
We realized we couldn't keep this to ourselves anymore. Too many photographers are still doing things the old way, the tedious, frustrating, time-consuming way. They deserve what we've built.
